4-H Nepal is a not-for-profit non-government youth-led organization. Four ‘H’ stands for Head, Heart, Hands and Health and is a global movement or campaign that advocates for the restoration and promotion of agriculture. Globally, the organization is formally registered and actively engaged in youth and agriculture-related activities in 51  countries. 4-H Nepal is the first organization of this kind in South Asia which works for the promotion of agricultural entrepreneurship especially among youth in Nepal.

The major objective of the two-day conference is to bring youth entrepreneurs and policymakers together in a platform, discuss on the issues and challenges of youth participation in agriculture and entrepreneurship development, and explore ways to foster youth agro entrepreneurship in Nepal. The conference also aimed to contribute towards the country’s development through agro entrepreneurship in the long run.

4-H Nepal, in collaboration with partners, organized the Second Youth Agro Entrepreneurship Symposium at Nepal Tourism Board, Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu from May 20-21, 2018. The symposium was organized with a vision and slogan- Educate, Advocate and Communicate: Empowering Youth in Agriculture in the presence of youth entrepreneurs, enthusiasts and experts across the country.

Youths from various parts of the country converged in Kathmandu and showcased their experiences, innovations and visions; discussed the policy environment that encouraged them in entrepreneurship. The symposium helped to establish networks, platforms and mechanisms of youth entrepreneurs for the collective and collaborative endeavours to create a fostering environment for youths in agriculture. Some 170 participants attended the two-day symposium.
