The International Green Summit is a premier global event scheduled for November 23 to 27, 2025, in Kathmandu, Nepal, hosted by 4-H Nepal, with the theme “Empowering Sustainable Futures Together”.” This summit will bring together leaders from the Asia 4-H Network, business magnates, agri-entrepreneurs, civil society organizations, INGOs, multinational corporations, international bodies, and donors on a single platform to discuss pressing global issues such as climate change, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and agriculture, with a special focus on the role of youth and youth leadership in addressing these challenges.
Every three years, the Asia 4-H Network Summit brings together members, leaders, and professionals to network and share best practices, thereby strengthening the 4-H movement. This movement, in turn, fortifies our communities, helps feed our growing world, and nourishes our growing minds. The inaugural Asia 4-H Network Summit was held in South Korea in 2014, followed by the second summit in Canada in 2017. This year marks the 6th edition of the summit, continuing the legacy of impactful discussions and collaborations initiated in previous gatherings by the Asia 4-H Network.
Asia and the Pacific, home to 60% of the world’s population, is particularly vulnerable to climate change due to its expansive coastlines, low-lying areas, and numerous small island states. This region’s dependence on natural resources and agriculture amplifies its susceptibility to environmental shifts, especially as populations are concentrated along coastlines. Additionally, the varying capacities of countries to address climate challenges ranging from limited institutional capabilities and financial constraints to slow progress in poverty alleviation further complicate the response to climate impacts. Environmental threats, such as gradual sea-level rise and sudden disasters like typhoons, are significantly affecting the physical environment, health, and socioeconomic conditions, deepening existing inequalities and exacerbating conflicts.
This summit will serve as a crucial platform for addressing these pressing issues by focusing on climate change and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will bring together leaders and experts to discuss and find solutions for the complex challenges faced by the region. The summit will address the interplay between population dynamics and climate change, highlight the disproportionate impacts on vulnerable groups, and explore ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. By fostering dialogue and collaboration, this summit aims to drive effective climate adaptation and mitigation strategies, ensuring a sustainable and resilient future for the Asia-Pacific region.
To create a comprehensive and impactful summit that addresses various facets of sustainability and climate action, while also celebrating and leveraging the unique cultural strengths of Asia.
